This past Thursday, we were honored to welcome former Congressman and Fox News host Trey Gowdy to speak to students at Southeastern University. During his address, Congressman Gowdy delivered a thoughtful and engaging message centered on the importance of building and maintaining relationships with individuals whose lives, experiences, and beliefs differ from one’s own. He emphasized that respectful dialogue and genuine connection are essential in bridging the growing divide in today’s political and cultural landscape. Following his speech, Congressman Gowdy took time to answer a variety of questions from students, offering further insight into his experiences in public service and the media.

Our community then welcomed Congressman Gowdy at the Lakeland Country Club to speak to members of our community. The event provided an opportunity for continued conversation in a more personal setting, as well as updated attendees of the ACPL’s latest initiatives which included a student’s testimony of the Center’s impact.
